Is Cannabis a Medicine or Abused Drug? | Wall Street Stocks | New York Stock Exchange | Wall Street | wallstreetstocks.net

This is one of the barriers to legalization for all of North America. In my personal life, I am asked this question from many people, it is also one I have asked myself from time to time. This is from New York, but like MS, Information on what is considered in many States and Nationally in Canada as Multi-Medical conditions including Multiple Sclerosis is world wide as well. Leave your opinions below

One point I noticed but I was un-able to comment on the blog-

This implies Marijuana to be more dangerous then Tobacco.  This is a proven lie.  Marijuana (in over 5,000 years of use) has never been conclusively proven  to be the cause of death in any case; other then violently as in car accidents and prohibition caused "Protection".  How many has Tobacco killed just this hour?

Does marijuana really relieve pain?

I have often been asked whether I use cannabis medicinally or do I really enjoy it. I always reply that for many, "enjoying" medicine takes lots of tolerance, and often doses are skipped unless an outside influence administers a dose or a reminder. My Neurologist and my GP acknowledge my use, GP asks me questions and Neuro signed my paperwork with a smile. When I can afford it for now, I never miss a dose. I also have some very good friends (true buds with good buds) who are sympathetic to my situation. Does marijuana really relieve pain?IMHO Yes, marijuana really relieves pain

MS Society of Canada views on MMJ

Through the Prince George MS Self Help group & Chapter (and the community of Prince George at large), I have seen a variety of attitudes concerning the use of Marijuana for any reason. Due to my personal belief in this plant I have been criticized and shunned from elements of society, most of which I had no desire to be in. It has denied me places to live in the past and paid employment. If I had a drinking problem I would have been treated better. Society has been prejudiced against hemp for almost a century now, many generations have had it drilled into them that Marijuana is an evil drug that has no place within our society and users are Junkies.

In research I have done online (*mostly American sourced) I have seen that Hemp (family of vegetation which Marijuana- AKA Cannabis - belongs to) has a multitude of benefits for society. In MS, Medical Marijuana relaxes muscles and reduces the pain felt by patients. The depression we feel may be lifted by ingesting Marijuana via smoking, vaporizing or eating. The MS Society of Canada has done some research on how Marijuana reacts to MS here: MS Society of Canada - MS Research. Not everyone is benefited by Medical Marijuana.

By eating Hempen products such as bread or cereal & other products made from Hemp flour we are sure to have a ballenced diet high in anti-oxidents and essential fatty acids which strengthens the body against flareups. Hempen products are not psychoactive, you will not get high from them. They may even prevent or eliminate Cancer cells from the body by providing a rich wellness source. The oils from the Hemp plant are rich in the oils our skin needs to retain that youthful look; hair washed in Hemp shampoo is shiny and full of life. Don't knock it until you try it, it is an important wellness product.

The MS Society of Canada and the MS Self Help groups do not recommend or endorse any treatment or procedure but we all feel you should be aware of treatments and wellness products available so you can make an informed choice. Use caution when trying anything and never change any prescribed treatments or take any medications with out your doctor's knowledge. Be well.

More history not taught in High (sic) School

Why are Students not taught this? Anyone want to link me to a conspiracy theory on this?

List of United States politicians who admit to cannabis use - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

While growing up and being educated in British Columbia, I learned that Canada's laws on Marijuana mirror laws set out by the American Government. I would toke recreationally during my "misspent youth" never knowing if it was doing harm or not, always looking out for the long arm of the law. I gave up after I turned 19 and set about creating a life that would be comfortable for myself in an alcohol fueled world.

I set upon traveling along life's roadway, never too far from the pot culture and always aware of my connections to a hardened batch of so-called criminals. In May of my 33rd year I wook up 1/2 blind while living life in some sort of discomfort, employed in Prince George BC. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in June of the next year (2000).

I had been weed free for the better part of 2 decades (with an occasional toke to sleep during fires I fought years before). 2 years post diagnoses I decided to try it again. It had a favorable reaction. I researched it online. I was overwhelmed by the amount of legitimate information praising it. It is proven to help society. How could it help me? I pushed the wire and quit smoking in 2005. Weed helped with that. Some said I replaced the habit. Could be- but at least I do not support tobacco use any more! Weed has never been known to kill anyone directly like Tobacco kills thousands per year.

When people asked, I promoted it. Some people reacted with horror; some support agencies and medical support refuse to admit it exists in their culture. Now, the Americans have a president who admits to toking and Canada's Medical Marijuana program is public knowledge. California leads the way in the USA to do the whole legalization thing; a few other states are doing the same. British Columbia will lead the way to a new future fueled by Hemp over Petroleum once things change south of us!

Sativex information

This site has good information about Sativex, which is a non-psychoactive byproduct of Cannabis, a proven non-addictive effective painkiller that does not make you high. It is available for Multiple Sclerosis, Canada was the first nation to approve it.

I personally think that using pot without the high is like drinking non-alcoholic beer but apparently it does work. In Canada, Sativex is not covered by any medical insurance. It is an approved medicine worth about $50 (Cdn) for a month supply. Ask your Doctor (GP or Neuro) or Pharmacist for more information and to obtain the product.

Cannabis Videos

All sorts of Video entertainment dedicated to educating you about the use of Cannabis. Enjoy!

Cannabis Videos

Most of the videos are American based, however supporting those efforts will strengthen our efforts across Canada.  It is a strange way of doing business but their biased laws against Hemp / Cannabis  regulate our Canadian way of doing things.  Here is a sample video:
"Introduction to Cannabis Hemp".

1st Question

How would you like to see some information about the relationship between Medical Marijuana (AKA "Medical Marihuna") at a future "Prince George Multiple Sclerosis Wellness Day Event" (open to citizens affected by Multiple Sclerosis in Northern British Columbia and the Yukon. Email your support or post a comment below.

The MS Society of Canada does not endorse this medicine (or any other) but many members of it's large community use it as medicine. The MS Clinic attached to the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia estimates roughly 40% of their patients use this medicine. At the last meeting of the Prince George MS Self Help group (which is not affiliated with the Society or the Clinic), we decided that we would like to find out more about Medical Marijuana. The word "wellness" when used in medical terminology that we understand includes the use of natural unprocessed plant species (Including Hemp - Cannabis). We should have a guest speaker who can explain its' use and demystify it for us; there has been far too much misinformation drilled into us.
